CLOTHE A KID FOR SCHOOL

PURPOSE:  A combined effort of Lorain County Churches and Agencies through Love INC of Lorain County to provide new school clothes for needy children when school starts in the fall.

CLOTHING:   All clothes will be new, yet modestly priced.  Avoid expensive brand names.  Clothes should be practical and washable.  No shoes or winter coats will be provided.  The application allows each child to have most or all, price permitting, of the following items:

1 pair of pants or jeans

2 shirts or blouses

3 pairs of socks

3 pairs of underwear

1 light jacket, sweater or sweatshirt

 RESPONSIBILITIES:  Love INC of Lorain County will coordinate this plan, contact the churches, provide training supplies, distribute clothing orders to the churches and arrange clothing distribution from churches to the children.  Love INC volunteers will sign up families who call in .Involved agencies will have their caseworkers screen their client families and have parents or guardians fill out applications for each child.  These clothing orders will be approved by each caseworker and sent to Love INC. Each church will have a contact person who will receive instruction from Love INC.  They will assist their church in determining how many individual clothing orders they are able to fill.  The church will seek families to each fill one order.  We anticipate that one order will cost $50-$75.  The church contact person will arrange for the clothing to be delivered to the church no later than August 1,2010.  Love INC will sort orders and deliver them to selected sites for distribution on August 14, 2010 using our volunteers.
