Love INC...

Love INC is a clearinghouse not an agency. We provide no direct services so that we will not unnecessarily duplicate existing helping services. We screen needs and organize churches to work with agencies in meeting individual, family and project needs that cannot be met by local agencies. This way churches are actually integrated into the helping services network within a community.

Love INC works with public and private helping service agencies to develop a need analysis procedure. This community resource database includes resources for food, clothing, furniture, housing, transportation and financial aid to people in need. We identify what is already available in the community so that we can make informed decisions as to how we can help.

How the process works...

1. Through a telephone interview with a volunteer, the client completely fills out an intake form providing us with all the necessary information.

2. During this interview, the phone volunteer is analyzing the client's need and the circumstances surrounding the client's situation.

3. The clearinghouse coordinator verifies all the information given in order to insure that the need is legitimate.

4. A referral is made to either an agency or a local church:

Agency Referral: Most agencies already functioning in the county have asked us to have clients call them directly. They will get the information they need from the client. Clients are asked to follow-up directly with the helping agency rather than with us, but they may call back if the agency is unable to meet their need. We record on our files the nature of the need and who we referred them to.

Church Referral: If the client is an active member in a local church, we would inform their pastor of the situation and ask for his assessment. Once we have his permission and we feel that it is a manageable need, we can then refer the client to a local church that is willing to help with the specific need.
